First Aid
Increase your preparedness to handle medical emergencies on and off the water with a NAUI First Aid program. This course covers major medical and emergency situations which can be managed through prompt response in the field while awaiting the arrival of EMTs or other medical personnel. In addition to standard medical emergencies, special emphasis will be placed on recognizing and treating diving related injuries including decompression sickness, lung over expansion injuries and environmental injuries which may occur during diving operations. While true medical emergencies are extremely rare during dives, the ability to respond appropriately can make a crucial difference in the the unlikely event a diver becomes sick or injured.
