Helitrox Diver (maximum 150 ft)

The NAUI Helitrox Diver programs provides the training and experience necessary to gain the knowledge and skills required to utilize helium for dives to a maximum of 150 fsw. Helitrox is essentially a nitrox gas mix (O2 level 21% to 40%) with approximately 15% helium added to the mix to reduce narcosis.

As a recreational course, this program may be combined with the NAUI Deep Diver program for a maximum depth of 130 fsw. As a technical training program, the course is often combined with Technical EANx Diver and Decompression Techniques Diver with training to 150 fsw.

A total for four open water dives are required on Helitrox for certification as a Helitrox Diver. Additional dives would be required for additional certifications, depending on the training objectives of the student and instructor.

This program may be completed using single tank or double tank gear configuration. Single tank divers will be required to provide redundant scuba on all dives below 60 fsw.

Course Tuition: $300 includes all instruction, NAUI educational materials, and certification upon successful completion of all course requirements. (Note: Course may be combined with other training programs for a reduced fee.)

Prerequisites: 50 logged dives, at least 10 using nitrox.
